A beautiful antique maritime seascape depicting sailboats and rowboats navigating choppy blue waters, with a castle-like structure rising in the distance. The soft colors, wonderfully moody sky, and ornate gold-tone frame give this small artwork so much presence.
Presented under glass with a wide neutral mat and an aged gold-tone frame featuring raised floral details. The back retains newspaper dated March 28, 1911, suggesting the piece was framed in the early 20th century. Artist and exact age are unknown.
Displays beautifully with age-related wear and patina consistent with an antique piece.
Measures approximately 10” x 12”.
